Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies vitecamion uses, and how you can manage them.

1. What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies allow the site to remember your preferences or session state between pages.

2. Essential Cookies (vitecamion)

vitecamion_auth — Purpose: authentication session. This cookie is set when you (or an administrator) log in and keeps the session active. It is strictly necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled without breaking authentication. Duration: 5 days maximum (deleted on logout). This cookie is HttpOnly and Secure; it cannot be read by client-side scripts.

3. Third-Party Cookies (Stripe)

When you proceed to payment, Stripe — our payment processor — may set cookies to detect fraud, prevent abuse, and enable secure checkout. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy). vitecamion has no access to or control over these cookies.

4. Marketing Cookies (Meta Pixel)

With your consent, vitecamion uses the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and build audiences for remarketing. The Meta Pixel is only loaded after you accept marketing cookies in the consent banner or cookie preferences panel; it never loads before you give consent, and stops sending new events as soon as you withdraw consent. Data sent to Meta is limited to page views, product views, cart actions, and purchase totals — we never send your name, email, phone number, or postal address to Meta through this pixel. Meta's own use of this data is governed by their Data Policy (facebook.com/policy.php). You can accept, reject, or change this choice at any time via "Cookie settings" below.

5. Local Storage (Shop Cart & Wishlist)

Our online shop uses your browser's local storage, not cookies, to support two features: shop_cart_token, an anonymous identifier used to retrieve your cart contents stored on our servers, and shop_wishlist, your saved product wishlist, which stays entirely in your browser and is never sent to our servers. Both can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

6. Managing Your Preferences

The vitecamion_auth cookie is strictly necessary for authentication and cannot be disabled without breaking login. Marketing cookies (such as the Meta Pixel described above) are optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time using the "Cookie settings" button available on every page — disabling them takes effect immediately, without needing to reload the page. You may also delete any cookie at any time through your browser settings; doing so will log you out of any active session.
